Post subject: SS Ports
Hello, I am currently at a campus where the central proxy blocks all games. The only way you can play games is to ask the person in charge of the campus internet to open a certain port for your IP address. The question is: If I want to connect to the Continuum directory server, what ports do I need open?

But it's not just the directory server. You'll need to open a port for every zone you play on.

Most campuses will allow any outgoing ports. Continuum doesn't need any incoming ports specifically opened.

I did a scan on what port Continuum.exe was using.

That'd be your local port, and that number was a port number selected from a range.
Or maybe the port the server you were connected to.
In both situations that reply was useless.

The guest needs the remote port for outgoing connections, for directory servers this would be 4990 and 4991.

Maybe you should get more familiar with things like these before answering such questions.

Nothing is wrong with it. You just don't know what you are talking about.

Post subject: SSProxyServer.exe from downloads at beginners.subspace.net
I'm trying to bypass closed ports on my lan, by running this SSProxyServer.exe proxy server on a computer outside the lan. Subspace keeps giving me the old "socks error 4 check proxy configuration).

The SSPROXY.INI is setup:
[Server]
IP=the_machine_ip_here
Port=9600

[Proxy]
Port=9601
Log=packets.txt

Anyone had success using that ss proxy server?
