Do this when you login as sysop in your zone:
Code: Show/Hide
?set Owner:Name=Shark!!!

"Shark!!!> ?set owner: name=Shark!!!
You do not have permission to set parameters in this arena."

That is what it said :/

Add your name to sysop.txt file (server folder). Also, use the sysop password once you're logged in the arena. If the sysop pass is abcd then type *abcd in Continuum chat.

Yeah, I said to login as sysop before you do that. Also, put no spaces in the ?set command. Just plain like this:
Code: Show/Hide
?set Owner:Name=Shark!!!

Yes but there's a little detail... he doesn't know how to log as sysop. I've been helping him to run his zone by email, I know what I'm talking about... :p

you have to the the persons sysop name in the sysop.txt (i think its case sensitive but not sure.) then you have to enter the password that you have set in the server.ini for the sysop. then you do a *password in the zone.

also, make sure everything is in your continuum folder because continuum wont read anything unless it is in the continuum folder. so you cant do a *putfile sysop.txt if it isnt in the continuum folder.

Why not just use the in game settings. ESC + C??

Get Shark!!!'s userid, and put that in under Owner as well as his name.

Contempt+, that is impossible unless you're ID is labelled as "Owner" in the settings already, he is having difficulties signing in as SysOp (which SysOps can do anything).

Assuming he hosts it localy, wouldn't it be simplest to show him directions to fixing it in the server.cfg?

For clarification:

[owner]
name = name displayed at ?owner
id = putting a userid here, makes that user able to do ?getsettings ?setsettings (gain access to changing settings, basically) without sysop powers.

Donkano, if you are sysop then you can access the settings by using Esc+C. You don't need to be owner of the arena. Duh sa_tongue.gif

How Solo Ace would put it:

"Haha, yeah let's tell Donkano what "rank" does."
Solo Ace - Sun Aug 28, 2005 8:02 pm

Since when is "rank" a command?

You obviously missed the point of what I said there...

"rank" isn't a command, I simpily switched it to abide by the post.

No, I didn't miss the point of what you said.

HE HAS TO BE SIGNED IN!! he probably has it so you have to enter the password when he enters the arena. WHEN HE ENTERS THE ARENA, HE IS JUST A PLAYER UNTIL HE ENTERS THE PASSWORD, which for some reason he cant figure out how. that is what they are saying.
