Post subject: testing my zone

ive asked this befor, and no one answered me, can anyone tell me how to test my zone befor i play it, i start subbill, and subgame2, then i start continuum, and i click zones, and then i click download, and i look for my zone name, (ANOTHER ?, is my zone gonna have the name that i have saved it as), and its not there, GRRRRR anyone know what im suposed to do!!

When you click on zones, click on Add Custom, and put the Zone name in, for IP put 127.0.0.1, and then put the port in.

That should do it.

did you forward your ports from firewall? if not then you should read the stickies for help..

tell me what your name is on continuum and i can help you there. i've forwarded enough ports its like second nature for me. its really simple.

wow wtf was that suposed to mean, are u saying that i wont have a good zone because i cant test my zone, lmao, im so sry that im new to the whole zone making process, and im only 15 so i would know what to do about the firewall problem, im not a computer nerd, i dont know everything about computers

i didnt really get into random stuff with computers until recently but i followed what other people did before hopping right in. (btw google is your friend). i'm only 16 i mean if i wanted to at 12 i could've tried but i was more interested in playing computer and video games

You are behind a router, you won't be able to get a connection to your zone unless you foreward packets.

Oh, and if by not there you actually mean not listed in the zone list download, then it's either already in your downloaded list (probably a red zone you can't connect to) or that you fudged up the directory server section in server.ini.

Box, try getting INIcheck from ssdownloads. It checks for common errors in your server.ini and subbill.ini.

Box, when you start up subgame and subbill, open Continuum, click on zones, and click on Add Custom. Once you've done that, put in the Zone Name, for the IP put 127.0.0.1 and then put your port number in.

After that, click ok, then you can access your zone. Notice that you didn't have to forward your ports, so only you can go into your zone.

Look at these settings in server.ini and set them like this:

[Directory]
IP=sscentral.sscuservers.net
Port=4991

ok well i changed the IP and Port under directory, and then i did the "add custom" and i did it, i started subbill and subgame, and it was green on my zone list, NOW... i click "play" and when i do..... it says Blah blah blah internet is down blah blah blah......lmao why is this so hard.....ok well im off to download that error corrector from ssdownloads.com lol

i downloaded that INIcheck thing, and i ran it and it said "change billing server port to blahblahblah" then i changed it, THEN i started it and it said to change it again ?? so i did, then i started it again and it said congradulations, blah blah blah no routine errors" Then i go to play my zone, i start subbill and subgame, and guess what, my zone is back to being red on my zone list, WTF??? should i change my port number in billing server back?
