Zone Hosting / Advertising - Zelda : Merging of the Worlds

Post subject: Zelda : Merging of the Worlds
Recently, I've seen many threads from different forums talking about how all new SubSpace zones are the same - basically all "flagging zone ripoffs". I, and anyone else that has played Zelda:MotW, can assure you that from the graphics to the gameplay this is a whole new beast.

The map and shipsets look like they are directly out of a Legend of Zelda game. There are two frequencies which account for the Dark team and the Light team. The Dark team contains such shady characters as a Deku Baba Plant and even Ganondorf. The light team possesses such fan favorites as Link and Epona. Zelda:MotW uses a ranking system so that the higher your points, the better ships you can use.

The map contains six different circular worlds that are connected to the middle by land bridges. These worlds are totally different terrain: A swamp, a desert, a Lon Lon Ranch, a forest, a lake and a mountain. These worlds each contain a crystal (six in all). To control a crystal you touch it, and for each crystal you control, you receive reward points periodically. These points contribute to your score and therefore to your rank and ship.

The settings emulate actual Zelda combat - keeping true to the legendary gameplay. Want to make your mark in Zelda? You can even buy a house on the map! There are 62 different estates to choose from, each varying from 5000 creds to 10000 creds.

Besides the exciting pub and duel arenas, Zelda has events that the active development team continually brainstorms up. For now, the zone uses three bots - One for pub, one for dueling, and one for events. There are many .lvz's being used in the zone currently to facilitate the contrasting worlds - which may result in a longer than normal download that is worth every second of the wait. Because of sub-par hosting in the past, MotW is currently looking for a good, active host that can help us make our zone shine as it should.

Attached are screenshots from the old pub arena, and one from the new to give you a feel of the graphics. The map changed, but not the gameplay.

Edited your post so the images are actually linked correctly, and changed the images to their thumbnail versions so it won't cause your post to scroll on smaller screens.

Now, splitting your text into paragraphs and such, thats your own task.

Hmm... I think I messed up the pictures on the post - so I edited it so that they were only attached. Sorry for the inconvenience icon_razz.gif.

Indeed, last time I checked it needs faster/better settings, or at least some objective...

Are you MTri, Lear?

Ah, I forgot to mention maybe the most important part. There are quests added weekly to give the map an objective. Sorry about that

But does killing people play a role in the quests? That's an important part of SS.

The Dark team and the Light team both try to do the same quests. There are intersections of the two which normally result in fighting. Right now the quests are mainly just going from one place to another trying to figure out a series of riddles. When we get the plugins to allow us, we plan on making it so that you have to do more in-depth things (such as kill an AI bot somewhere).

ive tried the quests that you have to go through that lame maze through the water and then go through the mountains and get stuck

also i suggest going asss, or making a plugin so you can mount/dismount epona, after playing the song for her to come, aka ?song epona, -after- you -learn- it, if you are gonna do quests and dungeons, at least go as3 and find yourself a coder so it can have potential, if it had an rpg theme that followed the actual stories, id spend alot of time in there

Heh, if you would have done it right you wouldn't have been stuck icon_wink.gif. That was a quest on the old map - we have a new map and new quests now icon_razz.gif.

Thanks for the input, we've been contemplating ASSS for a little while now. The hardest part is figuring out how to make modules and/or finding someone that can do that. The person who helped with our bot plugins does not know how to work ASSS.
