General Questions - Cant connect billing server.

Post subject: Cant connect billing server.

When i run subgame2.exe and it tries to connect billing server an error comes:
"ERROR: Could not connect to billing server. Starting server in stand-alone mode."
I can now get in my zone, but for example ?find comman doesn't work...
"Player database is offline" and so on...

Make sure the Billing port in subbill.ini is 185 and its BillingPassword matches with the [Billing]Password in the server.ini. Then run subbill first, then subgame2.

It doesn't always have to be port 185. As long as the ports match, and are forwared, it's fine. The biller I'm running at home is on port 13000

Now server can connect to billing server, but here is still some problems. when i enter the zone, there comes a message:

"This zone is not connected to central database. You should use a different a different password for this zone as your passwords may be exposed to zone staff. Do you still wish to log in using the current password?"

?find or any else ?- command is not working either.

SubBill.exe uses too much CPU. What i need to do?

That means the biller isn't connected, but it reads a connection. Make sure the Billing passwords are the same in both subbill.ini and server.ini.

Passwords are exactly same.

Are these IP's and ports right:

[server.ini]
Misc:Port=7100
Misc:ServerIP=My Real IP
Billing:IP=127.0.0.1
Billing:Port=185
Billing:ServerId=7100

[subbill.ini]
Misc:Port=185

I see it. Make the Billing:IP in server.ini 'localhost' and not '127.0.0.1'.

This happens to every zone that you have not joined I believe. Check the box that says "Don't ask about this zone again" and click Yes.

You have to add those commands in the server.ini, under: [Misc]:AlertCommands=

AlertCommand only defines what is the alert command.

For example ?chat command tells all my chats, but i am the only one in those chats. ?find can find only myself. That zone is not connected to the database. I think that is the only problem, but i dont know how to do it. subgame2.exe said that the zone is connected to billing server. Is that server the database?

You're the only one in your chats because it's running on your biller. And since you're using subbill, all the zones that connect to your biller must have the same Billing Password and billing port.

Does the biller that comes with server.zip have those commands? I don't remember, it's been too long since I've worked with that biller.

Switch to Catid's biller. www.catid.ssihosting.com

Will those commands work in Catid's biller? isn't that same thing: other zones are not connected to my biller so i cant see them on chat.

Are all big zones connected to same biller, or is it possible to use these commands with different one?

When i'm using that biller, server cant connect.
Biller says: Invalid login from 127.0.0.1. (i got 'localhost' there. not '127.0.0.1')
server says:
Billing server connected.
Connection to billing server broken.

In the above post of the server.ini and subbill.ini, I noticed there wasn't a Scoreid. Make sure you have a Scoreid greater than 0.

Also, post your whole server.ini and subbill.ini.

Make your Groupid higher than 0.

Also make sure that the passwords match in the server.ini in the [Billing] section, and the subbill.ini

ok. now this is working with Catid's biller. It still would be nice if there was a way to check people (in find command) from other zones too.

Thanks very much for help! Now i can test bots there, that was the main thing in my zone making! Thanks!

There is a way. But from YOUR zone on YOUR biller, you can't find someone from SSCU RedStar or SSCU Trench Wars, because you are not connected to their biller.

If there are more than 1 zones connected to your biller, then you can use ?find <name>, but only on those zones.
