When I sign in, and on the main page, it says that Talk Trash has a new post in it. But when I click on the forum, it shows no new threads.

Why is it doing this?

Happens when you idle for over a couple minutes and if your cookies are overwritten by new data prior to the login.

Sure.

Your browser caches pages you visit, it doesn't always query the server for the newest version of a page but shows an old one instead.

I had caching off for a long time in my browser; which made MGB complain. I turned it back on, now I get old versions of threads and have to refresh if I want it to be updated.
I doubt this helps anything, but well, MGB hasn't replied anyway. sa_tongue.gif

There is a difference between a good browser's cache and what you had. Images don't change, they can be cached. The forums as designed so any good browser will NOT cache the page, and instead reload it everytime you visit it.

* Connection = Keep-Alive

Notice those parts? It has EVERYTIME required for any smart browser, even stupid IEs that don't follow the standards, to not cache the page. It expires at the exact time you browse it. Its set to not cache. It is set to be private with an max age of 0 days.

Your proxy didn't even cache images, and reload every single one everytime you visited any page.

So I have to delete my cookies to fix this, or what?

Meh, I noticed them on non-proxy'd computers, but I'm not even receiving the "Cache-Control" and "Expires" fields (which means Squid ate them). icon_sad.gif

I'll switch internet connection soon again, that'll be proxy-less. :-/

No, Contempt, you have to just not be idle.

So in other words:

1 - Post "Lol. or LMAO" in every topic that is new
2 - Press back and look for more topics in other sections of the forum.
3 - Leave, and come back in 15 minutes.
