Post subject: [idea] upgrade ship
Anybody think it'd be neat to emulate the Natural Selection method of upgrades/experience (not the setting)? That is, to make a "movement", "defense", "intelligence", and "weaponry" upgrade ships that you could purchase with points/kills/whatever. You'd eliminate greening altogether (unfortunately), and start with a base ship.

Wait, scratch this idea. I forgot about the importance of greening/equal ships :/. Though it could work with 15-30 minute game time limits with a reset at the end.

Idea posted so nobody could make the same mistake by forgetting one of the most important SS game design rules.

You mean kinda like Hyperspace? As far as starting with a base ship? Or do you mean using levels based on points like the "rank" plugin. These things are indeed in a few zones.

Never played Hyperspace.. To me Hyperspace reminds me of a vaporware program.

I'll be the first to admit that that is what it has turned into, though it did once exist.

Balance was alway our second greatest problem.
