In about two weeks the new east coast server will be up at NAC in New Jersey. The game plan is that the hosted SSC zones will be moved over to this server while zones on SSI billing will be hosted on the Central server we currently have now. By doing this, the larger population zones will have a faster, more powerful server as they require more resources than smaller zones. Also, as we currently lack an east coast server europeans don't have much of a choice for lower latency zones. This will give a bit more diversity again seeing as how most of the current servers are all located at The Planet in Dallas, Texas.

At the same time, this will allow for more zones to be hosted by SSI and to grow on the SSI biller before eventually making the switch over to SSC should they grow enough. Zone owners are encouraged to apply as our zone hosting capacity will be significantly higher with another server at our disposal. For more details about applying visit the SSI/SSCI website.

I'm very glad about this. It's great to have an up-and-coming major SSC server run by someone active in the community. icon_smile.gif

@Cyph: What? Let me expand.

It's good to have a quality zone host on the SSC biller that isn't 1) closed to the public, or 2) run by an essentially good 'ol boy network and closed to the public.
