General Questions - subspace 3d Anonymous - Sat Mar 19, 2005 11:54 pm Post subject: subspace 3d
Hey guys..
This relates to my earlier post about subspace game development.
I was wondering what people thought about subspace using 3d graphics? still from a birds eye view .. but with a lot more depth. I am still playing with this idea or just doing a direct port.

Um...if it's still topdown, then you'd be wasting your time, since you can already have "3D" images.
I thought the CNL thing wasn't half bad for using somebody else's premade crap engine. Maverick - Sun Mar 20, 2005 10:28 am Post subject:
Subspace 3D has already been "tried". It has been called 'Subspace Next Level', CNL. CNL even works although its unfinished and not expected to be ever finished aswell.
I personally dislike it because subspace and 3D simply doesn't go together. I like ss just because of its simpleness, functionality and because its heavy configurable and adaptable.
I've seen CNL. This isn't what I was referring to at all. I don't consider CNL to be anything like subspace other then the fact they use the same ships.
The 3d element that I'd like to see in subspace is better graphics and textures. Most of what I want to do can be done with 2d bitmaps rendered with 3d depths.

I just want angled tiles :X lol. JeffP said it wouldn't have been hard to do with the SS Client; but we should all know by now that Continuum won't be updated unless TW needs some feature... :sigh:

You mean it won't be hacked unless it needs some feature. $
