Post subject: Arena Properties

Hey, im makign an arena, but im no sure how to go about setting the properties of it(fire speed, energy, ect.), and i looked for a while on the site but i dotn realy know what i wasw looking for, so im posting it here, if someone could point me in teh right direction and if u could send me an example or sutch at moosemonkey73@hotmail.com, please and thank you.

and use Esc + c in-game to view extra information on each setting

thanx, but thats not what i meant, ive finished the layout in SSME, but i dont know how to set teh properties, someone said i have to do it in notepad, but i dont know how to star, what to save it as or what to put in it

You need a .cfg file for the arena... you edit it to change the affects of everything in the arena. You can get one from the server.zip file on shanky's website.

Via properties i mean stuff like fire rate, and speed and energy, and so on so on soo n.... and for the file i have to create, i dotn know how to do it, or what toput in it, and ive looked on shanky.com/server, buti didnt know what i was lookign for realy, so i didnt find anything uselfull....

Edit it in notepad or in the zone ESC+C

yah, i know notepad, but i dotn know how to set it up, like how to format it (ordering and sutch), but it would help if u could find or show me a setup, or does it realy matter in what order u put it in...

It doesn't matter what order the keys or sections are in. Just make sure the keys are under their respective sections.

ok, 2 more questions for now...
#1- How do i set the co-ords for where u spawn
#2- Can someone give me a file that explains what each of those settings on the server.cgi file, and can u plz put it in notepad or word or soemthing and attach it to ur post, b/c i can only do most of this at school, and they've blovked nearly everything

This is an online version of template.sss which you can find in the same folder as subgame2.exe:

As for specifying player spawns, you can use the [Spawn] settings in server.cfg:
[Spawn]
Team0-X=512
Team0-Y=512
Team0-Radius=256

It goes all the way up to Team3 but you don't have to specify them all.
