Would the src in any language do any good? .. All people need to do is learn how to do sockets in any language from there.. the abuse can begin.

sockets in java are easy as crap, its almost identical to file i/o for TCP

If you want to stick with VB-like code for gui, use the MFC wrapper (although I don't recommend it). If you want to make code that is, sensical, efficient, and more controlled, use the Win32 API.
