Post subject: Flag Settings, Tips, Zone Trials, Solo Ace

Hi Solo Ace! It's been a while. I haven't seen you since you left T3G!

Ok, so here are my 3 questions.

1. (I doubt there is because after much looking I couldn't find any) But.. is there a way to limit the max number of flags a ship can carry?

2. After a couple hours of looking, I was unable to (recently) find any documentation which includes tips on how to not make your zone settings/maps/etc. annoying to the majority of players (besides what's on shanky's). We have our zone mostly complete, but want to make sure it's the best it can be before submitting applications to get it hosted. Anyone have any suggestions as to where we can look.. or any specific suggestions for that matter?

3. Anyone here interested in trying out the zone? It's going to be up off and on Weekdays from 8:30-midnight EASTERN TIME (as in, the eastern united states.) It's called "VitaminTHC - Bases From Hell". Any and all criticism would be greatly appriciated!!

You can make it so you can either pickup one flag, or pickup unlimited number of flags. From template.sss:
Flag:CarryFlags:0:2:Whether the flags can be picked up and carried (0=no, 1=yes, 2=yes-one at a time)

Run on a temporay host for now (such as off your home connection) and get feedback from users. Post in the Zone Junk forums here, and some people will give your zone a try and help suggest things. As long as your zone isn't a clone of another completely, and there arn't 20 minute long trips through mazes, you'll be fine.

Mine I think he was talking about like if there was a possibility to carry like a max number of flags (like if you have 20 flags in arena, 5 max per ship?)

Also, LVZ aren't too important for new users to your zone, so don't have huge files that require long downloads, people just say "forget it" and hit esc

Despite the possibility that a zone could be extremely awesome and be named "VitaminTHC - Bases From Hell", _that_ name makes me think the zone isn't even worth entering.

Now, maybe you only want people who are wannabe pothead groupies to enter your zone and that's fine, but personally I would only enter a zone named like that expecting to laugh (of course that's how I enter most zones, but still

).

I suggest a succinct one-to-three word name. Something that can easily be abbreviated (a la TW, EG, SWZ, etc) just because that's what the newbs of this game like to do. Obviously, you don't want it to abbreviate to something that's already taken.

@Shorty: I'm sure MGB understands that. However that cannot currently be done with settings, so he just explained what IS possible.
