And considering that I doubt any privately hosted zone would get more than 50/60 max at any one time..

200 gb is plenty to start with. Even 100 gb, as I highly doubt you'll get that many players on the server. In my honest opinion though, the current servers are fine. I don't believe we really need anymore servers as the current ones are able to support all the good zones. I could care less about the crappy or first timer zones. They can host themselves on their computers or use subspace's "play offline" mode.
There's really plenty of space on the good SSC servers for zones that do not suck
