that depends on what client you're using, not the chatnet protocol itself. Some of the clients do support ::

Obviously, as stated before the '::' action is a handled by the client itself. It is not part of the protocol; as this is just the communication routines. It is up to the program developer to include such a feature in their program.

By client they are refering to chatnet client. The only client that can connect to all zones is ctm. If you have sufficient access you can use subchat instead.
