If you send a chat/priv/freq message like 0.5 seconds after you entered a zone, continuum clients wont get your name and display a blank name with your message. Tested in HS, only seems to work in pub 0.

Did you do a "GO:name" after logging in before sending messages? ("GO:" will put you in the first pub arena)

the whole thing goes as:
send to server : LOGIN:1:name:password
sleep(500)
send to server : GO:0
send to server : SEND:PUB:message / SEND:PRIV:name:message / SEND:FREQ:freq:message

The 500 ms wait might have to be changed depending on your own lag to the zone. I have about 120-130 ms ping.

I attached a program I made to test this bug. You need to type in your username, password, the message you want to send, and the delay between LOGIN and GO. The program only works on asss test zone.

Ummmm that's a really bad way to do it. Wait for "LOGINOK:..." before sending GO:0.

Oh, and if you post a program on here, please include the source. >-(

The idea behind this is not that it doesn't work as a chat client, but rather that it exploits a bug.
