how do i change stuff like what ship starts with what bullets and how mcuh each damages

Yap, if you have sysop powers, hit ESC+C in-game - OR - alter the server.cfg (or arenaname.cfg) - use "*getfile server.cfg" (or arenaname.cfg) to download the .cfg to your Continuum directory, then open it up in notepad or wordpad etc, change values, save and "*putfile server.cfg" (or arenaname.cfg =P).

Seeing as he doesnt know how to change settings yet, there is a good chance that he is not hosted.
