ASSS Questions - Disable Sysop,Smod,Mod Functions wEaViL - Mon Mar 22, 2004 6:38 pm Post subject: Disable Sysop,Smod,Mod Functions
I was wondering something... Is there a way to upgrade the server so that a server owner can disable a certain sysop or other staff member from using certain command? Like lets say I am hosting 3 zones and I dont want my sysops to abuse the *super or *ufo. Example ?disable wEaViL *super and then a message comes up Disabled wEaViL from using *super... Probly would have to have a txt file like ban and sysop and such that copies it down and loads it whenever the server is rebooted or whatever. Would be a nice feature to cut down on abuse D1st0rt - Mon Mar 22, 2004 6:41 pm Post subject:

yes, this is how:
disable those commands in server.ini and TELL the zone sysops to leave them alone or you boot their zone

Lol... well that would be a problem cuase lets say the server is hosted by another company that you pay so the only access you have is ftp and the server itself... For argument sake lets say you dont want anyone to delete any files but you want to be able to delete them while your in the game. Or perhaps you want to be able to use super but dont want anyone of the other sysops to be able too. Or better yet theres a certain prize you dont want a sysop to be able to use in there zone/arena but you want someone else to be able to use it in theres. Would be easyier to just remove there permission to use that function instead of removing it from the ini so you can still use it but they cant.

If you cannot trust them to respect you, I wouldn't trust them with a zone. Sysops are suppose to be responsible, and not act like children.

Anyhow, a power management system would be nice (for subgame, may be asss allready has this built in).
