Post subject: Ive got a Counter-Strike themed zone!
My squad, the #Team Z, is newly formed. As leader, I have spent a couple weeks trying to perfect a server.
At school, we decided that the game Counterstrike would be an excellent theme. We have copied the terrain used in Desert Storm, but we have unique sounds, maps, tilesets, ship settings, and in the future we will have custom graphics.

Warbird=Colt m4a1
Javelin=Steyr scout
Spider=Steyr aug
Leviathan=XM pump shotgun
Terrier=Steyr scout
Weasel=Steyr sig
Lancaster=AK47
Shark=XM pump shotgun

as you can see, my zone has symmetry
each half gets their own guns

Please enjoy our zone!

If it does not show on the zones list (i do not know why it shouldnt) then keep this in mind:
Server: #Team Z Platinum Server
IP: 68.5.205.48
Port: 1070

IM me on AIM to tell me to put the zone up
I have a habit of keeping it down often

a. its done b4 and its gonna be done agaoin on asss by death+ and its also in ds as a arena

b. how about u get rid of teh stolen background

Please remove the '#' from the front of the server name, it confuses cont when it reads zone.dat

today, i deleted yours and made my own, although its much worse than your godlike bg

also, um...
# wont work?
it worked for me, my squad and many others...
what will be different without the "#" ?

I've got another question:
How do we make the player sprites (i.e. the different shooters in DS)?
Also, how do we make the ranks take to effect?

you need a bot for ranks, the easiest thing to do is grab a merv and use the rank plugin

sprites? y'mean ships?

open up the file Continuum\graphics\ships.bm2 (rename to .bmp if you must)

that should give you a basic idea of how to make the images

Quit cont and re-open it, your zone is no longer on the list, it must be added from the directory list again. Open zone.dat with notepad, see how the zone descriptions begin with # (if you want it to appear at the top of everyone's list, put something like ! at the front).

Anyways, the guest is my friend and second ranked in the squad
jus so ya know...
i got shipbuilder.exe, but it seems extremely old
it uses a very old pallette

now about mervbot, i got it, so i suppose i should get the rank plugin?

get a paint program for making ships

standard ship size is 36 x 36 pixels


make the ship straight up then use SOS's ship rotator program to complete the ship

I think you mean 32 x 32.

..but each frame in the graphics that come with SS134 and cont are 36x36.

Ah. I guess I haven't looked at ship graphics for a while.

Size of two tiles is 32 pixels. That's where I got the number from.

Yeah I know Dr Brain, I had thought so myself until I had been messing around w/ the ship graphics, sure to be 36x36, even though the standard 'radius' is 14 o.O.. leaving some room for the actual ship to touch a wall, etc. etc. icon_smile.gif

i guess its for rotating reasons, parts of the ship might get cut off if its 32 x 32
