On my SECOND computer (not on the one I usually use for playing) I've got nearly the same problem. That sucks if I want to have a lan party. The keyboard (not the keyboard-controller because that's the same in both PCs) only takes two keys at one time. So if I'm pressing "up"-arrow and "left"-arrow then I can't start fireing. If I'm pressing "up"-arrow and CTRL then I can't move left. That sucks because in online games it's necessary to do so.

There are several background processes that did this to me... the first one that comes to mind is the old RC5 client. I doubt it's a problem with your keyboard unless you bought the cheapest POS available. PC keyboards are required to recognize any pair of keys (though they are, unfortunately, allowed to ignore the third of any triad of keys except a few specific ones involving ctrl shift and alt).

Have you tried a different keyboard? Have you tried remapping the movement buttons to different keys? Try both of those first. If they dont work, try eliminating background processes.

Ever look at the circuitry of a keyboard? Its a matrix, and with that, you cannot press every combination. Another problem, even if the board circuitry allows it, the PS/2 port won't. USB fixes that.

I've got a PS/2 keyboard. This only works on XP but I can press up to 5 keys together and the software gets them all.

you need to buy a keyboard that doesn't suck

go to a computer store

try out a bunch of keyboards - buy the one that sucks the least

Which buttons? Crtl, Shift, and Alt are usually on their one little lines, so they can combined with everything else. Things like letters are not, since you shouldn't need to be hitting twenty letters at a time.

So you are supposed to walk into a computer store and install SS on all the machines? Someone should make a small program so you can test this without installing a whole game.
