Post subject: i need help!!!!!!

I have tried thousands of times trying to host my own server and it doesn't work!!!!! I configured my router and firewall and is still doesn't work!!!! I really need some help!!!

The problem is that i can't connect to my server even after i configured the router.

In the client, you need to click Zones->Add Custom, IP: 127.0.0.1 Port: <whatever you set the server port as> (this is because you are behind a router, other players across the world don't have to do this to enter your zone).

Actually, other players won't be able to connect to his zone at all, period.

Sadly, the only way to allow others in is if you open nessecary ports in the router and have it foreward packets to your machine.

what happens is when i start my zone it simply turns red and i can't connect to it.

it works now!!!
i can now connect to my zone. Smong, what you said is true. You do need to make a custom zone. But, in the server.ini file you put the IP address as localhost. Then you make a custom zone and you put your IP address and the port you set for your server. If you put 127.0.0.1 as the IP in custom zone it will say "client connection request from server ignored" in subgame. Thx anyway!!! I can finally host my own zone!!!
