Trash Talk - Hex Editor Cyan~Fire - Thu Jan 29, 2004 8:37 pm Post subject: Hex Editor
I need a Hex Editor for a programming project I'm working on right now. I was using Hex Workshop (which was really great), but the shareware license expired. Now I'm using the one in MS Visual Studio, which is pretty crappy.
Anybody know of a good (prefereably freeware or very cheap) hex editor that (preferably) has a few of the good features (file comparison, datatype displays)? Probably a high order, but just wondering if any of you knew about something good like this.
Thanks,
Cyan

I like ICY Hexplorer (www.icy.prv.pl) It works, has some cool features and is open-source freeware.

go to dos, type debug and then the file
ex- debug porn.jpg
here is a quick start, http://www.geocities.com/thestarman3/asm/debug/debug.htm
just type "d" and that will dump hex from memory

I pick d1s, that thing rocks!
I tried Hackman, but I found it a little annoying.
The GUI sucked in 'debug'
Thanks a lot d1st0rt!

Oh well the old version used to be awesome; i see they've done a lot of updates to it which made me kinda questoinable on it.. like they made a SDK thing or something for it?!? and a bunch of junk lol
