What is KotH? What exactly does it do?

King of the Hill is something that adds flavour to alot of zones. When it starts, every player gets a crown. Each crown expires after a certain amount of time (usually 120 seconds or so). The last player(s) alive wearing a crown will receive a nice amount of points, divided equally between the survivors.

You lose your crown when you die, and you will receive some extra time if you kill someone. This way, people that hide ina corner won't have much of a chance of winning King of the Hill. If you lose your crown, you can get it back by killing a number (usually 3) of people wearing a crown. If you do, you'll get your crown back with a fresh timer.

In most zones, King of the Hill is just an "extra" feature ; it's not important for the actual theme. Even if it's not too important, you can get quite a few points by winning KotH. It can be alot of fun if there are others also concentrating on getting that King of the Hill reward.

But at example if I am at my own zone and someone is still loading the level and while he is downloading the KotH-timer expires - why does he get some points and I don't get them?? I couldn't lose my crown because there was no one online, but him. And he was downloading the level...

Wow.
King of the Hill, people left alive without dieing after a certain amount of time. Or people who have made a vertain number of kills without dieing to reclaim the crown. People with the crown are eligable for King. If youre granted king, you get points.
