You don't need a T1 for a biller. I don't care how much pop your zone has, a biller does not handle that much information.

it use low bandwidth but you should have a okay box too run it since the more zones it connects the more time it needs too look over all the users and zones. But other wise a biller can be ran off a 10MB/s Line ez and even cable.

Most of the data is outgoing for a biller, so you would need around a 50 kb/s - 100 kb/s upload for it to run without problems. That's for a small biller of course. For something like SSC billing, it's a different story entirely.

Post subject: Info connection speeds
Dedicated line broadband speeds and prices
T-1 - 1.544 megabits per second (24 DS0 lines) Ave. cost $400.-$950./mo.
T-3 - 43.232 megabits per second (28 T1s) Ave. cost $8,000.-$18,000./mo.
OC-3 - 155 megabits per second (100 T1s) Ave. cost $25,000.-$49,000./mo.
OC-12 - 622 megabits per second (4 OC3s) no estimated price available
OC-48 - 2.5 gigabits per seconds (4 OC12s) no estimated price available
OC-192 - 9.6 gigabits per second (4 OC48s) no estimated price available
A T-1 line is a high speed digital connection capable of transmitting data at a
rate of approximately 1.544 million bits per second. A T-1 line is typically used
by small and medium sized companies with heavy network traffic. It is large
enough to send and receive very large text files, graphics, sounds, and
databases instantaneously, and is the fastest speed commonly used to
connect networks to the Internet. Sometimes referred to as a leased line, a
T-1 is basically too large and too expensive for individual home use.

A T-3 line is a super high speed connection capable of transmitting data at
a rate of 45 million bps (bits per second). A T-3 line represents a bandwidth
equal to about 672 regular voice grade telephone lines, which is wide enough
to transmit full motion, real-time video, and very large databases over a busy
network. A T-3 line is typically installed as a major networking artery for large
corporations and universities with high volume network traffic. For example,
the backbones of the major Internet service providers are comprised of T-3 lines.

What is the difference between T1 and something like 1 or 2mbit cable? After converting my local currency to USD cable comes out at just over $100 per month. Do these prices include the server as well as the connection?

Also why do you host so much, do you work for a big company/ISP or just have bags of money? Did you start NTC or take it over?

The difference between T1 and cable is simply that T1 (and all its relatives) travel through phone lines while cable travels through, well, cable. This also means that T1 is more reliable and secure because on cable, all your area's data is traveling through the exact same line (like a LAN), but with T1 you only get what you want. (It's like DSL.)

To complete that chart a little, a DS0 line is basically half of ISDN. So, T1 is basically 12 ISDN lines.

About your 'biller lagging', how do players notice when the biller lags? It's probably the server lagging. The biller will easily run on DSL/Cable/ISDN.

I bought 2 servers. I will pay to more and rent 3. But that will be like mid of this year.
