Trash Talk - Rotations

Post subject: Rotations
I've noticed that degree rotations in every program I've tried 'fuzz' the image a little. SOS' Ship Rotator does it. GIMP does it. Microsoft Photo Editor screws the whole thing (lol). Is it just an impossibility to make perfect rotated images, or am I missing something?

consider that at low bittage (pix/in) the pixels may retain visual squareness. Attempting to rotate to an irregular angle (non 90 intervals) will probably result in some pixel blending to conform the image to the rather strange angles cont demands...

Oh well guess I'll just have to fix the border fuzzing manually. Evilness.

Wanna know the secret behind all the pretty images that are small for almost every game? You make HIGH quality versions of everything. Then you play around with the rotations, lighting, etc on those 2000x2000 type pixel images (or when working with true 3D, any-sized vectors). Once you have that done, then you shrink.

Good example? Every play Starcraft/Warcraft 3? Remember those cut-screens that are played, which show those little guys in great detail? Thats how they made EVERY guy in the game. You do it in huge detail, then scale down to the size so it looks good in a 1024x screen.
