Post subject: Staff Passwords

ok...i am now a staff member!!! so when i type *(smodpassword, pfft i am only a smod....i need to be a sysops) can everyone see the password i type?...and if they can, and they enter won't they get the powers unless the Staff Checker is on...how do u turn it on so that only the peoples names on the Sysops, Smod, Mod.txt can login with the passwords, even if regular players know the password?

if you just append your profile's normal password with "*staffpassword" you won't have to worry about typing it

really now....i see...now akai...can i change my password without makin a new name...each time i try to change my password...i do ?password=(new password) then when i leave the zone and try to re-enter...it says invaild password...how do i correct this?

you do ?password=whatever, exit, try to enter and it won't let you in unless you use your old password?

...does this zone have a biller?

i believe that it is using the biller that came with it..

and when i enter the old password... it doesn't work...i enter new password, that doesn't work...and now ShortyMatt and Shorty+ (2 of my best players) are lost forever!

i know that this part does not pertain to this question, but is it possble to get the zone to give 100 points per flag per 5 minutes (turf map, i am staff there) or should i get a bot to do it...server.ini or cfg should be able to though, right?

Umm you didn't set the *blah part in ?password, did you?

.cfg should be enough

so akai.....u can EASILY set that up in cfg? and cyan....i did ?password=(this is not real password)bloobloo*bleeblee(blee blee being the staff password)

btw...can a sysops change the news.txt without the owner knowing or changing it themself....same with the settings? (i tink I can...i just want to make sure...and sorta how ((i tink it is the server help section)))

Uhoh. Not good, dunno how biller handles that. Try just typing in 'bloobloo' WITHOUT of the *bleeblee i guess. You are not supposed to set your biller password with the star, you only change that in your profile. :-/

now to convince the zone owner that i a worthy of being a sysops....

also...to set to turf map i do...flags=2 (i tink)

and to give 100 points per plag every 5 minutes i do......I dunno what to do....
