Post subject: Gravity Settings?
Hi, I want to make it so my ships dont float around.. if you dont thrust the ship would stop. Im not sure if these are gravity settings or thrust and speed settings. If someone knows anything about this please reply as Ive tried a few diffrent things and cant find the effect Im looking for. Thanks

So you want friction? The only friction possible in SubSpace is whenever you hit a wall, you can loose a bit of your speed. In server.ini, play around with Misc:BounceFactor. 16 means no friction, great than 16 means you loose a bit of your speed. Normal is around 22, so play around with making that setting higher.

Well, I have found a zone that uses the "friction: I want. The zone is "SSI - The Complex" if you download new zones.. there is a subarena called Tanks.. check out the way the tanks operate.. this is similar to what Im looking for. Theres no floating after you stop thrusting...and I dont think its done by the bounce factor.

k, if I remember correctly...

set ship:InitialSpeed= lower than ship:MaxSpeed=

and then either set ship:UpgradeSpeed=0 or rig the ship:InitialBounty= and/or PrizeWeight:TopSpeed= so that a person cannot green more speed (thus ruining the effect)

you will have to hold down SHIFT to move

you might also want to mess with ship:AfterburnerEnergy=
