Alright, allow me to explain. I'm using the warp bot for my center safe, which is located at the bottom center of the map. Now, above that, there's 8 warps. 6 lead to the base, and two lead directly to the flagroom. Here's where the problem is. I can set it for either freq 1 or 0, and only that freq specified will be allowed to go directly to the fr, but what happens when the other team finally takes the flag? Is there anything I can do so that once the other team captures the turf flag, the bot will change the allowed freq? This means sending new cfg settings though, so I don't think it's possible. Thanks for your concern, though. icon_wink.gif

you'd need tm_baw's .ini file to update when the turf flag is taken, I think

probably require an extra bot or something

Or you modify tm_baw itself...

Yeah.... could one bot upload a different plugin to another bot? For instance, I have two Tm_Baw.dll's, one saying allow warping for freq 1, and the other saying allow warping for freq 0, and both also check which team has control of the turf flags. Once freq 1 captures flags, the corresponding bot loads the plugin for freq 1 warps, and vice versa? LOL.

*The easy way*

Unfortunately, I'm unwise to the ways of bot making/editing.

Well I'm definitely no expert in bot programming, but I'll play around with it.

You just have one turf flag and you want the bot to warp the possessing team to it?

Post subject:
Not just 1, I have 5. Although that's a rough estimate, as I haven't made the map yet. But I can test the bot.

So you want whatever team possesses the flag to warp to it? What happens if a team possesses two? Random warp?

If you don't own all, whoever owns more gains warp access. If that's too hard, just disable the warp for both teams if less than all are owned.

Sorry I'm just getting confused.
If you could just make a basic outline map and post it here (or email) I might understand. icon_razz.gif

Do you mean having a bot change the [Spawn] settings depending on who owns the most flags?
Katie - Sun Aug 24, 2003 2:32 pm

No Smong. Let me make a makeshift diagram:

|1|2|3|4|5|6|7|8|

Warps 1,2,3,6,7, & 8 all lead to entrances to the base. Warps 4&5 take you directly to the flagroom, for protecting the turf flags. I know that you can make the warps frequency specific, but the problem I'm having is that I only want the freq owning flags to be able to use the warp. If a new team takes over the flags, then I want that team to be able to use the warp instead of the other freq.

I've decided to go with 5 flags, so that both frequencies cannot have the same amount of flags--one team will always have more. Like I said if the whole "whoever owns more flags gains warp access" thing can't be done, I'll just make one flag, and whoever owns it gets warp access.

If you had 6 flags you could make it so that when one team owns 4 or more the warp is for them, and only when the enemy team gains 4 flags minimum does the warp change. That way people "sitting" on the flags won't change the warp owner really quickly.

If there's a ready plugin for it, sure then I'll make six. icon_smile.gif

Errr sorry... I suppose then I should spread them out? I had them sort of an angle between a + and a X. If I spread them out it would probably be harder to capture, and noone could "sit" on more than one. Even if I set them like 5 or 6 tiles apart, that would work better? Ty Ty.

Here's a general idea of what my flags will be placed like. I might change the fr, but the flags I won't move.

Smong, you said something about a six-flag method that would work. Is there a ready plugin for it? Or does it need to be created thus far?
Smong - Wed Aug 27, 2003 3:32 pm
Post subject:
I think I would be safe saying that it needs to be created. (hmm, quadruple post...)

I surely couldn't look desperate and ^BuMp^ the thread. That would just be lame. Is anyone willing to make a plugin like I described?
