For some reason my internal clock is backwaded.
Always getting left behind the real time, and I don't know why.
The number of minutes it's late by is also accumulating (IE it's not a constant 30 minutes after real time for example, the gap keeps increasing).
Scanned for viruses and trojans and it came negative...any ideas?
I'm on win98 with, hmm...an asus motherboard I think it is, but I don't recall the serial ATM and the manual is in storage (and rebooting is not an option right now since I'm pressed on time).
Any ideas?

You're not running some kind of clock updating service that's going haywire, right?
That's the only thing I can think other than something physically wrong with the motherboard.

Replace the battery on your motherboard. Common problem.
