Ok, it happened to 2 people in the same evening in 17th Parallel:
Server gives me a 'packet flood error from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx' ; player is kicked out ; player cannot get back in server, even after 24h, PLUS after a *recycle.
In one case, the player had a 'zombie' in the zone... he was disconnected, and even logged in a different SSC zone, but he was still visible on the player list in the arena.
The players only get a 'Connection to server lost' message after a while; there is no ban on them; there is no ipblock or idblock; no *kill ban either.
The IP of the two players has nothing in common.
We also used to have some other players who seemed to be affected by a similar problem, months ago.
Note that these players can also connect to Trench Wars without a problem, and 17th Parallel is on the same server. Same IP, different port. _________________ (Insert a bunch of dead links here) |

Mike crashed the server to have it restart completely... Don't know if it's fixed, haven't talked to the affected people since. |

sure, but how do you restart it then?
the zone is on the same server as TW, we don't have direct access to it... and shutdown command is disabled too
But apparently a simple sendto with the wrong syntax crashes the zone, so it's not much harder |

How do you restart the server after a *sendto? If there's an auto-restart script on the server, then I don't see why *shutdown would be any different. _________________ Hyperspace Owner
