On Sunday night, around 10PM PST, @minegoboom.com became the victim of the worst joe-job I've ever had to deal with.

What is worse than spam? People who setup their mail system to have the own unique way to say "You sent spam!" back. Filtering out the masses of unreachable users was easy. Getting rid of how who says what is spam was a bitch (logged over 80 different message types).

Traffic, in Mbit/s. Notice the average traffic before it started.

CPU utilization. All the normally heavy CPU processes are on their own virtual machines.

The biggest hitter was the constant disk access. This doesn't virtualize away very easily and causes other VM to slow down.

How many concurrent processes were attempting to run at any one point.
