I've been playing with Wuala a lot recently and it is getting very nice. It is run by Google and getting almost daily updates. And like any good Alpha Google program, you get invites.
Recently, they've given me a bunch of invites, so I can send them out to anyone without caring now. So if you'd like one, send me a private message with your email address, or reply here with it. I have lots.
Be noted, I won't keep you as a friend, because you are yucky. |

Do you need to be signed up to download? Or only to upload stuff? _________________ (Insert a bunch of dead links here) |

Anyone can download it (super-secret hidden page), they just don't publish that link except in emails. You can't get an account without an invite.
Runs great on Win2k, WinXP, and Linux 2.6 (Gentoo and Ubuntu) for me. I have a friend who uses it with OS X and it runs great there too. Doesn't work in Vista 64bit yet, but they say it runs in 32bit OS.
Have to use the program to download and upload, as everything is in small packets randomly over the internet, and encrypted. |

wasn't there a big problem with this before where people would unknowingly end up storing someone else's encrypted child porn on their computer? _________________ SubSpace Discretion: A Third Generation SubSpace Client |

You can, yes. But it is encrypted with a key you don't have access to, stored with no information describing what it is, and only pieces of it. Thus you have no legal worries about it, because it is no different than storing a file containing random information.
Also, by default, you can choose not to store anyone else's data. You just get more storage yourself if you store other's data (and have good uptime). |

the Q&A is great... "Are you aware of system X that's been around for 5 years and does the exact same thing?" |

I still have 30 invites if anyone wants more. Plus, it seems everyone new gets 15 invites.
For those with Wuala, you can view all the higher quality images of the webserver. |

Since when are youtube videos 50 minutes long?
but anyway, it's mostly like any P2P program. Plus the encryption thing so other people don't even know what they're hosting
looks pretty nice... |
