What ports do I need to forward to my wireless router in order for ASSS to run properly?
I ask because I'm having lots of problems on my wireless connection regarding ASSS, but when I wire up to my cable modem directly I have no problems. However, I am only able to wire directly about once a week so I need to get ASSS to work via wireless router.
I believe the port needed is 5000 and Underlord tells me to also forward 5001 since the server is pinged on port+1, but outside of that I'm at a loss as to what could be causing this.
Symptom:
Whenever I connect via wireless router from the same computer as I'm running ASSS on, I get a problem any time ASSS tries to upload anything.
IE, when using the esc-c command, downloading lvz files, or even simply scoring a soccer goal. The connection between the ASSS and the client goes dead, but occasionally a packet or two will get through if I wait long enough.
The zone shows up fine in the list and I can connect normally without any trouble until I do one of those three things.
Do I need to open up more ports on the router? Or is it just something else?

As far as ports go, ASSS is no different from subgame (with a minor exception if you care about chatnet). If you can get subgame to work on port 5000, asss should work on port 5000. _________________ Hyperspace Owner

Any other reason wireless wouldn't work then? It works fine with wired connection. |
