Since the current provided subbil.exe in Server.zip isn't sufficient (due to many reasons) I was going to attach CatId's billing server to the Files/programs to include in Server.zip topic.
However, there are three versions available. Does anyone has any experience with the modified versions (mainly Confess's) and which should be the best to be included into the Server.zip and why?
The following versions are available:
I usually use SOS's which works fine. _________________

I always used the standard subbill.exe... can anyone give me some good reasons to get one of these listed by mav? I'm only using it for my local test zone though... I'm guessing if I had many zones connected to it, that would be another thing _________________ (Insert a bunch of dead links here) |

The standard subbill.exe takes up 100% CPU for no reason at all and doesn't support BanG. |

Barely uses 20% for me (it's still probably too much for what it does though) |

It can't use 20% of your CPU unless you have other stuff hogging it. It runs in a sleepless, infinite loop.
I typically run the 11j version, not sure what's better about Confess's, but I must confess that I don't trust him to write good code. _________________ This help is informational only. my version didnt really do much, however it was significant enough to be released to those that want the update. I didnt create a list of what it does...however, essentially it was as follows
-New ?man format
-Changes some names of commands.
-Adds NetworkGreet variable, which can be changed via the server.ini. (IE, Welcome to X Network. Please type '?man' for a list of commands)
-Added .txt support for things such as ?bnews, ?bstaff, and ?bcontacts
I think theres something im missing. Just not sure what else. Special thanks would go to db for helping with his code (which was not used, with the exception of one thing..but I cant seem to remember what it was. )
I will say this, the few updates it had..were for moreso network billers..I mean billers that host more then 1 zone, but whatever floats your boat. It was built off of SOS' build. If you dont use mine, use SOS' since it has the most fixed issues. Catid's is buggier then SOS'. _________________ I know that I myself cannot do anything, that I will fall, and that I am a sinful man, but I know that I can do ANYTHING through God Almighty, whom strengthens me. |

If you ask me, Catid's biller is due for a major update.
Wholesome bug fixes, greater efficiency and reliability, possible rewriting (redesigning, or recoding) of whole lumps or sections of code, etc. |

Uh yea that's not going to happen unless you do it yourself.
Attaching both biller versions to the stickied topic for MGB to decide |

I've used neither before, as I generally run without a billing server when I do testings. I'll need some user input as to which is better for the user base. |
