As I'm leaving for the UK tomorrow, I'm gonna try to get some books today to read while I'm there.

Right now I'm thinking:
The Metamorphosis
Infinity Beach
one of the non-Ender Card books

You guys have any good ideas? I think 3 will be enough but if there's something you highly recommend I may replace one with yours.

Digital Fortress
By:Dan Brown.

He wrote The Davinci Code as well, and both Digital Fortress and Da vinci code are best sellers. I don't read much, and i even liked that book.

Back of book says:

If heard bad things about Digital Fortress and I actually really dislike Dan Brown's writing style with his really short chapters. Gives me the feeling that his books are dumbed down for the masses.

The Icarus Hunt by Timothy Zahn.

Or if you're looking for more than one, his Conqueror books (Conqueror's Pride, Conqueror's Heritage and Conqueror's Heritage). Those are my favorite three Sci-fi books (or any kind of books, actually).

Starship troopers is also a good classic. Nothing like the movie (in the I, Robot sense), so don't let that scare you.

Are you kidding me? I'm in the UK right now at Mile End, Queen Mary's. 1 thing: GO SEE Love's Labor's Lost at the Globe Theatre as a groundling. Most amazing thing I've ever seen in my life. I'm going to go see it again next week and seeing The Merchant of Venice on Thursday as well. I am reading 7 Shakespeare plays while I'm here, and the only other book I brought is the complete works of Plato. Hit me up dawg.

Here are a few of the books I read:

Any book from Micheal Cordy
The Lonely Dead by Micheal Marshall
Jinn by Matthew B.J. Delaney (very boring at the beginning, but it's worth it)
The Traveler by John Twelve Hawks
The Rosary Girls by Richard Montanari
Spares by Michael Marshall (I'd like to know what drugs the author was on while writing this book!)

Micheal Cordy, Micheal Marshall and Dan Brown are my favorite authors at the moment.
Did anybody read one of the books in my list, too?

If you're into Fantasy(or want to get into it), try out

David Eddings's Pawn Of Prophecy
Robert Jordan's Eye Of The World
Terry Goodkind's Wizard's First Rule

All those are epic fantasy, and they don't suck and aren't boring like LOTR. I can also suggest

Arthur C. Clarke's Childhood's End

That one is Sci-Fi, and it's very short, but it's pretty good. But to be honest, my favorite Sci-Fi series I've ever read is Robotech. It's based off of an anime, but trust me, it's 10x better than the show. I didn't expect to like it, but it's really one of my favorite series.

Also, one more series of books I could recommend is the Myst series of books. There are 3, and the first and third book are absolutely amazing. As for the second... either I didn't get it, or it just sucked. I think it probably just sucked... they were trying to give you the story that was immediately before the first Myst game, but there's not really enough story to make a good plot out of. The other two books make me wish I didn't suck at Myst games so I could play through the 3rd one. >_<

I live by "If there's anything worth doing, it's worth doing right." But somehow i don't think Cyan would like HST. Nevertheless, my favorite HST book is The Rum Diary, check it out.

Well, thanks for all the recommendations, but I had already gone to the library before I read most of them so ended up just taking my original 3. (I didn't even get to Infinity Beach, I guess I found more stuff to do other than reading this time around.)

I did go see Love's Labor's Lost at the globe though, which was fantastic. Thanks, Muskrat!

Wasn't it great? I got up in the little section that was practically inside the stage. I think I fell in love with Rosaline. Got her autograph and a pic with her after the show.

What other shows did you see? I saw othello and merchant of venice at the globe too but they didn't measure up to LLL. Also saw stomp, The complete Works of William Shakespeare in 97 minutes, and various others. I just got home last night it was a crazy trip.

Othello was very good. It just wasn't as funny which is what I like. Iago was my fav actor in it and Othello was played by that guy from Oz. He is goood!
