If you are behind a router you will need to use your LAN IP.
Start> Run> Cmd> ipconfig
You lan ip will start with 192.168.
Example: Mine is 192.168.2.105
Yours may be 192.168.1.100 or something similar. (It will not end in .1, that is your gateway) |

Try this server.ini, but do not touch subbill.ini. |

LOL if he posted his ini b4 hand I would have noticed that the zone and biller ports were the same.
They are two different servers so you have to put them on different ports.
I always have to use my lanip behind my router. You probably will too. |

According to the wiki article, you need to change it to an IP where that won't happen. Is it your WAN or LAN Ip that is set?
WAN is the IP on http://www.whatismyip.com
LAN is the one on ipconfig (IF your behind a router, if not then it is your WAN also).
Make sure you use that LAN Ip if possible. Your IP on the biller will usually be your gateway address (192.168.1.1 or something close). You shouldn't have to worry about that. |

Continue using a LAN ip and try connecting from an outside network. |

How... relevant.
Guest wrote: | Nvm i changed it from local host the my ip and it worked, but now it wont let me into the zone, on subgame 2 it says "Client connection request from billing server ignored |
Changing the localhost to another IP only made things worse, so guest, stop being ignorant or please just stop posting.
I'll give you two choices. Listen carefully, or just don't listen at all and forget about getting any further help from me.
BDwinsAlt, you obviously have no idea what you're talking about, so you might as well, uh, let me say it politely, uh, shut up. Yeah.
The setting Billing:IP must be localhost in your situation. Don't think about changing that to anything else.
The setting Misc:ServerIP should be the WAN IP address, like found on http://www.whatismyip.com/, or as the inline variable on these forums say: 216.73.216.208
When you download the zone list with your Continuum client, it will show your zone there.
Because you're on a NAT - most likely - with a router that won't let the WAN IP refer to itself - again, most likely - you will have to do the following:
Add a custom zone, open the Zones dialog in Continuum, and click the "Add Custom Zone..." button. In the dialog that pops up, type in your zone's name.
Just use the zone's name and append something like "Local", or anything you'd like to call it as long as you know it's the local entry for your own zone.
Add it with the following IP address:
127.0.0.1
and the port number 5000 (that's what your server runs on after all).
Try to use this entry to enter your own zone.
I'm not sure if the directory servers make sure your Subgame's reachable from the net. You will need to forward port 5000/UDP on your router(s)/gateway(s) to let people from the Internet get in.

I thought it was UDP. I know I had to forward the zone port + 1 (UDP) in order to make them show up green. I just told the dude what I always did and tried to get him to try the same thing. He's the one who can't get everything working right.
Quote: | You will need to forward port 5000/TCP on your router(s)/gateway(s) to let people from the Internet get in. |
From the how-to said this: For example port 3000 and 3001. Select udp as the type and input the IP from section 2c. It would suck if no one could enter because the wrong thing was selected. |

The port+1 is purely for ping purposes. If you only forward the zone's port, it will show up red, but everyone can still connect. |

Happy father's day (to any fathers/pet owners)!
Yeah I figured you knew, just wanted to throw something back.
Subgame shouldn't be that hard to configure. I never have issues with it. I guess every connection is different. He could always use that public biller thing that is advertised on the download list. He wouldn't have to worry about using his own biller. That would probably be easier for him. |

Quote: | I did everything correctly, tried to use localhost under ip, but when i go into sub game 2 it says cannot connect to billing server, starting in stand alone mode, whats my problem? | Unless you still have a problem, I highly recommend downloading and installing http://www.jackpotsvs.com/files/ServerKit-Full.exe (an all-in-one, ready to go, on-demand Server kit for Subspace). Just run either of the billers and Subgame and it should be fine. You can modify your *.ini files in a step by step process to see where you might make a mistake, and where you might not. I hope you find a solution to your problem.
Another solution -- instead of hosting a biller yourself, why not use the Public Biller? See http://forums.minegoboom.com/viewtopic.php?t=6594 or the news file to the zone called "Public Biller HQ." If you need any kind of help getting a slot on the Public Biller, I or almost anyone on these forums should be glad to help you. |

You could connect to CypherJF's new biller. It supports subgame and ASSS. Try that too. I would recommend what L.C. said. He or someone else can add what you need to the server.ini and you can simply run subgame. Good luck. |
