I have the version1 folder, it's updated.
I'm not getting a "You do not have permission to play" error, so permission mode isn't what's wrong, even though it's set to 0.
I don't get an error at all on the Continuum side. It happens when I try to create a new user account, so I disconnect the biller, and I get the Invalid Login Packet error in subgame when I try to download the news. |

Not sure though but isn't this the exact problem what preventes people from running subgame on Windows Server 2003 ?
Have you checked if there are any connection-filtering programs active, like a firewall ? |

I do not have any firewalls, windows defender, antivirus or spyware checking material running at the moment. I moved the files to my home PC runnin WinXP and I could connect just fine, so I would assume it's with Windows server 2k3, but doesn't SSCC also run Win Server2k3? |

Try recreating your zone from scratch and put parts in one-by-one I guess.
You have a .38 executable in version1 with AllowPrelease set to 1, right? _________________ This help is informational only. No representation is made or warranty given as to its content. Hey are there any updates on this topic, like Syrus I too have made sure that I've done all the updates and everything seems to work fine, server and biller connect fine to each other, and I know its not a biller issue as when I install ASSS it connects fine to the biller and people can connect to the zone.
Its only when Subgame is running and people try to connect its a problem.
The only thing I can think of is its Windows Server 2003, I've even tried going from the 64bit edition of W2k3 to the 32bit and its still an identical error, which is this :
Invalid Login Packet Recieved (Ganjaman USS)(681790055)(MyIP)(sec=0)
As stated I've made sure everything else has been done, update in the version1 folder and everything, its weird that continuum the .exe won't run on either the 64bit or 32bit versions of W2k3, my knowledge of the server is limited but Im guessing it doesn't run the executable, then again ASSS has no problems letting people connect, so I know its a specific problem to the subgame file. Anyway gonna put the 64bit edition of W2k3 back on the box as I know its not related to that, any extra help on this problem would be much appreciated.
Yours

Just an update for anyone interested in this bug:
Truly, finding the source of this bug seems to find itself most complicated. I havnt a clue how to get the definite answer as to what causes it, other then most of the newer Win2k3 builds screw up the subgame. Because of this, I was forced to try and find out the reason as to how to fix it, and not find out the "why". After much hassle, I found that you seem to need some kind of build that was released at a different time. What time that build for subgame was released, I dont know. But something changed between versions or something. Here is a copy that SST/SSCT is forced to use, with much thanks to one of the new SST Zone owners, Dethdefire (Owner of Starship Troopers). This allows .38 to work. Previously, .39 was the only one that *might* work with the one that we had. Anyways, simply extract these into your server folder and overwrite the files in there.

It may be a stupid question but has it already been tried to start subgame using Windows XP emulation (or win 2000)? |

have indeedy, no difference at all. (Except when i put it into Windows 98 compatability mode with disable visual themes, that froze up the entire box, needed a hard reset)
But its ok as Confess's little rar file certainly fixed the whole show . . .
now I've just got to investigate huge CPU utilisation and we're sorted really |
