Its a png. Continuum is set at 8. Not sure what the image color depth is set at or how to check.

Try your continuum at 16. If it looks better it means your image was saved at a higher quality than 8. You have some choices:
A. just make players use a color depth higher than 8
B. Map your image to 8 bit colors

And how would I go about mapping my image to 8 bit colors?

In photoshop there should be some options for it. Don't remember them exactly and I haven't installed it on this machine, but it shouldn't be hard to find.

Or do it in the save as.. file type but I don't think it works as well.

But, did you even try it with >8 bit cont?

im not sure if png's can be saved as 8bit but i think mine once said png's are the best to use *needs citation*

save it as bmp.. first go Image -> Mode -> Indexed Color -> Local(Selective) -> Forced Color = None -> Dither = None -> Transparancy = Sure why not.

Hit ok.

Save as. Bmp. Click 8 bit.

OR don't do that at all. Just take your png, hit save as, bmp, 16 bit
Most zone hoppers have their color preferances tuned up.

You could even set it to 32bit. 8bit sucks.. Lets force people to turn it up a notch. Save them in 16bit. icon_wink.gif
