Does anyone know for sure if a XP Home sp2 key from a upgrade disk will work on a XP Home sp2 full install disk? In other words, I want to change my bad key out with a real key from a purchased upgrade disk.

No. The upgrade keys are different from the full keys. Same goes for OEM and MSDN keys. None of them are interchangable.
