the directory servers are screwed. only 3 still work for sure, so go to the bottom of the server.ini and look for [directory] ip= and set it to these 3
sscentral.sscuservers.net
ssdir.playsubspace.com
zones.sscentral.
do the same in your zone list
if this doesn't work no harm done its still better than what the files came with.
edit: I should really try not posting stuff when I'm tired heh... didn't read carefully enough...

There might be a firewall blocking the server connecting to the directory server.
Try to connect to your zone by adding a custom zone inside Continuum. You probably need to set the IP 127.0.0.1 if you are running it from your own computer. _________________

ok, awesome...
i can see my game when in the zones list..
but it wont let me fully connect while joining the game,
it gives me the "failed to connect to server " etc.
should i change the directory port to the one iam using, or is that for the servers itconnects to? |

i am having the same exact problem. if you've figured this out yet let me know. i think ive read every single topic pertaining to this and i still can't figure it out. ive changed the addresses and the billing ip multiple times. i turned my firewall off to see if that was the case and still the same thing.
i finally got it to show up and then failed to connect. so i dunno |

are you using a router to connect to the internet? If so you'll need to forward the port on your router.
If that's not it, see if others can connect using your ip (from whatismyip.com) and port rather than using the directory server. _________________ SubSpace Discretion: A Third Generation SubSpace Client |

[userip] is a hidden feature I added into these forums, to tell people that "your ip is 216.73.216.208". |
