I have these hi-tech Logitech wireless keyboards. The old ones were easy to open (well it was a little tricky though) but the new ones are actually completely closed opening will destroy the keyboard.
But whatever, I used to open the keyboard completely and only took the dirty parts and just clean them in the shower.
Because I can't clean my newer keyboards this way, I take the batteries out and cover the electronical parts (not the keys). Then I just clean them with water, carefully.
When it's not really that dirty I usually use compressed air with a vaccuum cleaner next to it, which works pretty good for small solid parts and dust. |

None of these are possible to do to my keyboard while I'm at work. Well, I COULD get into the shower that's in the bathroom, but I'll pass.
Although I suppose I could take it home with me, it's wireless anyway.... |

I extract the buttons, turn it upside-down then pats it strongly on the back and try and get out as much of the initial dust and clutter as possible.
After off it's manual work, fingers & twizers to pluck all the shit out, perhaps with a moist cloth, the kind they sell for cleaning monitors, as well.
And for finish a compressed-air brush for a swift sweep. |

Ya, I just tested your idea, with a old keyboard, and it came out a little bit deformed....
As for me, I just use compressed air and a keyboard vacume for big chunks. If that doesn't work, I get mad, and use my paintball gun (not loaded, of course). |

First, you don't use soap. Second, you don't use heat drying. |

Probably not as well on wireless keyboards, but there's nothing better for a wired one. _________________ Hyperspace Owner
