I have a Belkin Wireless G-"Plus" router (equivelent to Linksys Speedboost) and matching G-Plus PCMCIA card. I'm on a 3 Meg DSL line, and the speed is always good, downloads at 300 kbps, but in SS and only in SS I get disconnected every few minutes. The wireless LAN itself is not disconnected.
So I'm not sure what it could be, and I see by searching that other people have had this problem.
I've set up Port Forwarding in the router and unblocked SS in Windows Firewall. I'm hoping someone has an idea what it could be. I've tried Linksys, and this is my 2nd Belkin wireless.. it's not the hardware at all.
Argh
If it helps, I've noticed that it happens more frequently in high traffic arenas, or when there are a lot of ships on the screen. When there is a low pop. arena it hardly ever disconnects. |

Maybe it is just a naff router that thinks it is being UDP flooded? Even my firewall thinks I'm being UDP port scanned after I try to reconnect to a zone more than twice in a short space of time. |

You should try to connect your computer directly to the router by wire (ethernet cable) so you can rule out wireless connection outtages.
I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) that wireless connection can be unreliable if you are having a continuous connection. _________________

i use wireless.
however i found if i used encrpytion i would randomly get disconnected in many online games including continuum.
So i turned it off and just use a MAC block and it works like a charm. never get d/c anymore now. |

I seriously doubt encryption could be the base of an unreliable connection (unless you got a crappy computer/ wireless adapter), but if it solves the problem... |
