Wrieless G-LinkSYS Router
Internet: SBC Yahoo DSL

For some reason while I am on the web at random times (daily maybe every 2-3 hours) my internet drops. So I go to the linksys config page (http://192.168.1.1/) go to

>Start Status

There comes up the followin info:
Code: Show/Hide

                   Login Type:                 PPPoE
           Login Status:              Connected
               IP Address:               70.251.251.30
             Subnet Mask:             255.255.255.255
             Default Gateway:        151.164.182.15
               DNS 1:                         68.94.156.1
               DNS 2:                          68.94.157.1
               DNS 3:
               MTU:                             1492

Now this is when internet is ACTIVE, but when it is dropped no information is obviously there and I click "Connect" and it tries to connect and fails coming with the error:

Code: Show/Hide
Cannot connect to PPPoe server

So then I have to restart my dsl box (turn it off and on) then wait a few for it to boot up then I am able to connect on the status page on the router.

Now after 2-3+ hours this happens AGAIN and I have to go through the entire process and after doing it so many times is a PAIN.

Does any one know what is wrong or can help me?

I had a similar problem with my cable modem and my linksys BEFSR41 router. It would disconnect for about 3 seconds every 15 minutes, enough to stop all your download, disconnect you from continuum and make you reload the page you were trying to view. So, I reset them to factory defaults finally, after trying to upgrade firmware to solve the problem. It no longer does that any more. Try resetting all your settings to default and starting over. Take a note of the current settings if they are not automatically set to connect correctly.
