k now, i made a shroud thing but i want it to be centered..no matter what screen res the person is using..like if i make the image 1280x1024(max res) and set it up, when i move down res..the offset goes off center...
so like..can u set a coord amount in the lvz that depends on a users screen res..or do i need some kinda bot for this? |

From my upcoming LVZ-Tutorial:
Quote: | 2.5.1 X and Y Position
Like the X and Y Position of mapobjects its defined in pixels.
But if you want, with one difference:
You can use the constant C.
C stands for center and indicates the center of the players screen.
i.e. C-146,29,IMAGE1,AfterChat,EnterZone,3000
This displays the object at the center-146pixel.
You don't need to use C, you can absolute coordinates if you want. |
Tell me if u understood...
If you want ur picture to be centered... use:
C-<Picture.Width/2>,C-<Picture.height/2>

meh..it worked..u know i tried that before and mabey i put 2080 instead of 1280 :X i waste peoples time by accident..sorry.
anyway just to continue the questions and make this less of a pointless thread.
about mapobject tile positioning...
yeah yeah, so everyones told me [tile_coordinate]X16 = tile position in pixels.
and its completely logical and should work, seing as each tile is 16x16
and it works....sortov, but when the tile coors are more like 768x823 or something, the lvz image just dissapeard(so it seemed) then it appeared again in the top left..(as if it had looped across the game area and back to the start)..and this x16 business just kept screwing with me.
dont tell me i dunno how to use a calculator, or that im stupid..THIS REALLY HAPPENED!
its weird i know, just needed some thoughs on that.
could i be the compiler? |

768x823
=12288x13168
(just in case )
Maybe the object is to big to be displayed, but i doubt that somehow...
Use debuildlevel on the lvz, and check if it compiled the coords correctly. If not, use another compiler.
Otherwise, i don't know...

The first time you download some lvz with objects they won't appear correctly (transparency turns off) if you fly your ship so the object appears at the top left of your screen, just type ?go to reload the images. (I'm not sure if this is your problem but I'll post it anyway). |

bug: an unexpected defect, fault, flaw, or imperfection
only the programmer can say if it is a bug or not
has anyone even bothered to test this out besides roof? |

Known problem, has been 'fixed' for the last couple of releases, but everytime, some just won't reload correctly the first time its extracted. Hopefully, .38's 'fix' (won't extract, loads directly from .lvz) will permently fix it. |
