Any recommendations on specific models would also be appreciated. Thanks. _________________ This help is informational only. No representation is made or warranty given as to its content. In my experience every new palm I get the battery runs out faster. So unless you really want hires and color just go for low res and b/w screen.
My last one is a zire 72s, the camera is pretty naff indoors and the video saves to .asf (better than some cameras which use a totally custom format). |

Per your recommendations, I think I'll go with the Palm m500, mainly due to the expandable memory. You think that's a good bet?
I've basically ruled out Power PC because someone confirmed my suspicions that Windows CE crashes just as much as the normal one (not too much, but I don't want my PDA to crash at all). |

If you want to use it as an organiser that should be fine. In which case the only point in having an expansion slot would be to store a backup of the device or install stuff if the usb chip gets fried. |

Well, they main purpose would be an organiser but I have high-and-mighty plans to possibly take notes on it as well (would work for classes that give lots of notes very slowly).
:-/ Is that USB issue common? |

I wouldn't be surprised if the whole m500 series is affected. You could see if the m500 uses the same chips as the m505. |

Well, now I'm setting my sights on a refurbished Tungsten T. |

OK, so I got the Tungsten T and I'm very happy with it. It has a color screen (pretty high-res, too), but a long battery life; an SD card; a nice, solid case; and the ever-useful bluetooth technology. |

Plus you'd have to be within 30 ft of a repeater or something at all times to be able to connect with bluetooth _________________

Just as a follow-up, I'd like to say I'm still very impressed with this thing. I've dropped it about 3 times now, and the metal case has served very well, only minor scratches (even with one drop being on a tile floor). The battery life is still great, and I'm discovering more usefulness every day.
I must say, I'm amazed that I am so impressed by a product of a modern-day company. Kudos to Palm! |
