Does the zone die and recycle or does it just kick them out?
Are you running any custom made modules (besides the text change in scoring.so)? _________________ Hyperspace Owner

For some reason, my last post didn't bump the topic. Something about an error sending email.

Does it say anything on the console that it was running on? Like Segmentation Fault? Or Deadlock?
When you go to recycle it, is the program still running (no prompt, have to press ctrl+c) or has it stopped (you have your shell prompt, can type commands immediately)?
I think I had this problem in my testing zone. I never found out what was wrong, but because I had quite a few custom modules running, I was never able to determine where the problem was originating. |

just had the problem happen again- this time:
2 ppl in zone - a third person enters -before he even gets the map downloaded - everyone is booted....
Forced to recycle - no warnings on the consol.. just apears that everyone disconnects.

Sorry, but I don't know what's wrong. Your best bet is to talk to grelminar and see if he has any theories. |

I would try removing all the un-needed modules from your conf, or only enabling the necessary ones to run asss and see if that solves the problem. If that did work, enable them 1 by 1. I had issues with the py modules, so I just took them out and everything ran smooth. |

It should be self explanitory.. just start from the bottom up.. things like autoturret, or most of the funky mods are not required for it to actually "run".. things like exec, security encription, and the main mods (mostly at the top) are required. You should be able to recognize them mostly by name. |

I like how you took out every module related to scoring of any kind, but left in exec _________________

ok its still happening even when i disabled those modules... so I put the modules back and decided i need to look elsewhere. I no longer am running a alterend scoring.so.. and there were no other changes on the server. this has been happening since day one... is it my internet connection? this is a zone hosted currently on a home computer... what can i do to fix it so ppl dont get booted from my zone...

Is the zone being port forwarded through a router/firewall(or is that linux box its on nating)? If so i'd fire up a long ping with about a 500ms delay to your first hop, or any ip that won't mind(ping -c 10000 -i 0.5 ipaddr). Try to get the zone to boot everyone and watch for missed pings or huge spikes during that time.
If it is directly connected to the internet then download a vanilla asss 1.4.x and fire it up without touching one conf/setting (except for port setting and maybe zone name). If it works ok then start slowly porting over old files. Manually edit the new files when you can. Don't just copy the old ones over. Remember at each stage what you last changed incase the bug does pop back up. That should at least narrow it down. |

If you send or post all of your modified modules (not included in the default asss), and a fresh copy of your current config, I will try to run it and see if I get the same issue. Are you running this on win or linux? |
