Just a quick question, I'm wondering if this can be done by just changing some setting.
When I'm typing while something else is happening in the background (like a file move), it can ask me for confirmation on some action.
Sometimes I accidentally confirm or cancel such actions because the MessageBox took my input from what I was typing.
I want to prevent certain MessageBoxes from taking focus, if possible.
Any ideas? |

It's best to get at the root of the problem. What program is causing the boxes? _________________ This help is informational only. No representation is made or warranty given as to its content. Ahh, sorry. Just use the command prompt for file moves. It's better anyway. |

I guess it only happens when certain keys are used when the MessageBox is on focus.
I won't use the command prompt for file moves, pfft (typing those commands would take longer than all the file moves), I'll just be a little more careful. |

I usually find it faster to use a command prompt for moving files than it is to cut/paste or drag-and-drop. I guess its all the knowledge you have of certain tools, and how accessable they are. I have a transparent command prompt pinned to the bottom-left of my desktop, thus it is always accessable. Bottom right, I have a SSH connection to my local linux server setup for more complex functions that unxutil cannot handle. |

I'm talking about sorting files actually, say for a dir with 300 files where different numbers of files have to be moved to different directories (/drives).
A command given in a graphical environment would be way easier and faster than in a command prompt. |

Sorry, even as a big fan of command lines, I'm with solo here. The command line is NOT as quick as a GUI drag and drop. _________________ Hyperspace Owner

Indeed, definitely not for organizing files, but if you're doing a long operation with little user interaction, like Solo copying his porn directory, it's better to use xcopy in my opinion. |

I knew someone would come up with such accusations, but actually I wasn't talking about porn files, only you losers have such things.
The files I was moving were more like backups of files and CD images of my CDs.
But, yeah, it'd be porn in your situation.
Donkano, you completely missed the point of this thread, are you really that stupid? |
