I've been told not to use jpg for everything because of a transparency problem, however, if I use png or gif the files are far to big and my lvz file becomes about 2 mb! That if much to big....
What is my best method of changing the exposions, bombs, guns and stuff with out using a lvz file or using a lvz file?

Not to use as many frames. If you are doing an animation for some image somewhere (object only, not bomb replacement), you don't need 10 FPS. If you are doing a replacement for Continuum graphics, don't make them 5000x5000 sized images.
Beyond that, try making sure you are saving as 8bit images, and not 16+ bit. |

my bomb replacement is 65x65 although i surely could make it alot smaller.
65x65 x 13 images = 65x845 then with 10 fps = 650x845 which makes a 181kb png. Altogether I have like under 500kb in my .lvz file, but when I make a .lvz file with the build.exe it makes it over 2mb's!
As for how many bits it is, I didn't check on that, just whatever the default is I guess. I'll have to check and change that. My file was just over 100kb until I added this extra image.... so go figure eh... |

ok I reduced the size of my bombs image by about 50% and then saved it as a bmp and renamed it as a bm2. This brought my lvz file down to 2044kb! So I totaled up all the files that are included in the lvz file and it = 500.8kb! So what happens to make 500.8 kb 2044kb! |

Well there must be something else in the LVZ. Use PNG instead of BMP, also. _________________ This help is informational only. No representation is made or warranty given as to its content. Finally, I found the problem... Had to go over each line very carefully, but I found it!
I had forgotten to replace one of the file for a jpg. So I changed it and my file size with extra files in it now is only just over 300kb!!!!! Victory! |

not for photos or rendered graphics. JPG works better than PNG for those cases |

This is why I added the nice compression stats on my DeBuildLvz program, to show which files are the ones causing all the problems. |
