I'm having problems with a flag game that I want to develop. It SEEMS like a really simple project but I am getting extremly unexpected results. I'm pulling my hair out trying to make rhyme or reason out of what is happening.
Here is what I want to do:
1. Place the Flag at an exact location (Turf Mode 2, lvl Editor)
2. When the user drops the flag, is killed, specs, or ship changes; respawn flag back to original position
The Flag Settings are FlagMode 2, CarryFlags 1, FlagDropDelay 30, FlagVictory Never.
Now here are the crazy things that are happening. When a player picked up the flag and drops it, the flag respawns at the correct location but it owned by the team. (ie. the flag is now yellow for that freq) If other players run over the flag, they receive the sound when a flag is picked up. However, they do not have the flag. The flag respawns like 3 seconds later.
Now, if the player that originally owned the flag dies. (this is after the owner has dropped the flag and they have turned from red to blue) the flag is up for grabs again. Other players can then pick up the flag.
If you type *flagreset during all of this, the flag goes to blue for everyone, but NO ONE can pick it up.
I don't think I did a very good job of explaining this, but basically what I'm looking to do is a get a flag game like FlagMode 0 but I want the flag to spawn in a stationary position.
I've tried using the FACTS program and the FlagMover.dll extension but with that running, the flag never spawns at all!!!
Any help, ideas, thoughts????
