If arenamode is 5(and maybe some others), you'll have to create a .cfg for it too _________________ 3y3 4m l33t h4x0r

if you want to be hosted on an already-established zone youll have to talk to the owner of that zone, or at least one of the higher staff members...
welcome to the subspace *Badwidth starved* artists guild. we build it, and then they make us kiss their, their friends', and all the members of their cult's asses so we can get hosted. then they abuse our creations for their own megalomaniacal gain.
Too much info... yeah we suffer from that here
oh darn, when you said "arena" did you mean what we call "zone"? IE Extreme Games, Trech wars, etc? Those are ZONES if you didnt know. in that case you need to hit http://www.shanky.com/server... its got it all _________________ Signatures just seem so quaint. |

assuming thats what he wants to do
A word of clarification:
The servers are not anyone's natural right, they are strictly ruled with iron fists by eager teenagers and college students. They DO NOT think it is your right to be "hosted" (online, have your arena up). they are vile and loveless people. DO NOT assume it is your right to anything. This IS NOT a moderated communtiy. There is NO POLICE and NO BILL OF RIGHTS for anyone. |

if you dont mind me cutting in...
servers are just computers that run the server software (like that found in server.zip at shanky.com/server)
these computers load map files with the extension (suffix, file type) .lvl and settings files with .cfg (there are others, but they are peripheral to the main ones listed here).
in order to get your "arena" online you need to put that .lvl and possibly that .cfg file on a server. servers are owned and operated by their owners and in many cases invole the System operators (often called sysops for short) that regulate what is on the server. if you want to have an arena hosted youll need to find someone who has access to a server to upload (transfer it to the server) for you. |
