My college lan is limiting the bandwith distributed to dorms, so i emailed them about opening the ports to this game since not many here play it. They agreed and wished to know what the main port of the game was. I'm assuming there is no 'main' port because each zone has its own, am i correct or is there a main port they can open so i have access to each zone and not just the ones i give them the port #s to? |

Also, the main billing port is 185. Zones appear red when you load up the biller without forwarding the 185 + 1 port. |

correct me if im wrong but he does not need to open the ports to the servers as for they are the ports the host has open for the server. Sound's like SS has a port it uses to connect and find servers and such and they would be the ports to open. |

Note that all ports are UDP not TCP. _________________ 4,691 irradiated haggis! |

@weavil: The school most likely has a port blocker.
I'm afraid no school admin is going to be active enough to go around unblocking ports for each zone. It would be easier to convince him to give you admin powers over the blocker. _________________ This help is informational only. No representation is made or warranty given as to its content. A lot of places block all outgoing traffic apart from certain ports like port 80. |

Don't know how continuum go, but the VIE client default ports are 138 and 139 (gameplay packets and pinging&population I believe?). |

There are no default ports used by the client (VIE or Cont). It must use the destination ports that each server is setup for. This information is part of the zone update that comes from the directory servers (zone name, description, ip/port, # players). UDP ports 138 and 139 are VERY UNLIKELY ports to be used by a game. |
